For the love…

…of family. and sweethearts. and marriage… UP is a recent movie that probably is one of this year’s favorites. Definitely at the top of a certain person’s christmas wish list. Growing old with your best friend has to be one of the top 5 things in life. I’m not there yet but watching those who are, is incredible. And this animated film definitely captured the life-long adoration of two sweethearts…perfectly.

Ian & Kim {10.24.09} | girly prep

Emily & I met Ian & Kim at one of our first bridal expos last March. When we heard of WHERE there were getting married we pretty much begged them to shoot their wedding. San Diego Wild Animal Park is just pretty darn rad! Lawson, Emily & I shot this wedding together and when we were first arrived, we split up and snagged some great shot of each half of the party on separate ends of the park. I was on bride duty all day and stuck to her like ‘white on bride’ baby! :) Here are a few girly prep shots…

We used the tram all day long since the ceremony and reception were pretty distant from each other. We all felt like royalty though. Just wish we had a trumpet or kazoos to announce our arrival everywhere we went. that would have been cool!

Wilson Family {Portraits} | sweetheart pics

Daniel & Kerry are expecting baby #2 in a couple months and in the midst of transitioning and busy schedules, they still clearly adore each other. Now granted Kerry did put up a mini hissy-fit when she saw the romance seeping from some of their kissy pictures. She thought some of the youth group kids might give her a hard time. To which i said, ‘embrace it darling, you love each other and that is wonderful!’

Isaiah likes it when his parents get all kissy on each other. Pretty fascinated actually.

Wilson Family {Portraits} | Bernheim Forest, KY

Bernheim Forest is an incredible plot of land near Cox’s Creek, Kentucky. Sunshine burst in its late-morning splendor and made the trees and fallen, golden leaves spray into color! Daniel, Kerry, Isaiah & baby bump were on their best behavior while scampering about the autumn explosion!

Here are a few daddy/son shots…they have a lot of fun together!

Isaiah is (in my mommy’s words) cute-as-a-bugs-ear! :)

And to wrap up the morning shoot we meandered along the windy forest road. I felt like poetry seeped off of the asphalt and was whispered in the breeze and leaves crunched, birds sangs and our families laughed together!

thank you so much for a precious shoot Wilsons! You guys were wonderful and it was so good to see you during our Kentucky visit! :)

House of Color!

A photographer i stalk, Lauren Clark Photography, is selling her home in Texas and just posted pics. So digging the color! Seriously, as soon as i pop this kid out and can get the kids out of the house for a while, i’m gonna tackle a few walls in our house. We’ve gotta spice things up in our abode!

yellow isn’t typically my thing, but i just love how bright this looks!

I’m so drooling right now…thanks for sharing your home

Wilson Family {Portraits} | behind the scenes

I’m really excited about the next portrait series of the Wilson Family. Lawson & I went to college with these two which made our visit with them so surreal. Daniel & Kerry are pregnant with their 2nd, as we are, and Isaiah is about 6 months older than Judah. It was just crazy to see how much life has happened in the last 3 years for both our families! Here are a few preliminary/behind-the-scenes pictures to get Isaiah warmed up.

As soon as i started playing hide-in-seek, Isaiah loosened up and got really goofy

Traipsing through the welcome center of Bernheim forest. Judah looks pretty concerned over the bees that were sucking on the honeysuckle flowers.

this is a favorite daddy-son picture. Daniel is a GREAT dad!:)

packin’ up to head to the HEART of Bernheim’s golden forest…

Here is sneak peak of our time in the forest. Seriously, i was overwhelmed with AUTUMN. Everything was on fire! I’ve decided we need to head to the mid-west every fall to get our seasonal fix! :) Sorry Cali, you kinda suck at seasons. nothing personal.

My new best friend…

The Lacie Rugged Hard Drive was our most recent purchase for my photography ventures. We needed a good travel storage system and i did quite a bit of research, got a deal through B & H (the 500GB Usb/firewire 400 for $130 instead of $240), dug the fact that i got a rubber-bound ORANGE hard drive…and have been so satisfied! It also does not need to be plugged into the wall! It goes straight into my computer via firewire or USB connection and boots right up. So convenient for this momma who is always going from the office upstairs to the living/play room downstairs!

Hernandez Family {Portraits} | the girls

I’ve posted a few highlights of the HERNANDEZ’s family shoot sporadically in the last couple weeks. However, i wanted to post a few final favorites of the Hernandez girls playin’ in the leaves. So precious. I hope they mount these as a series. Makes me excited to have a daughter :)

Steve & Marlena {09.04.09} | the ceremony

The WANN ceremony was beautiful. I love outdoor sites and the intimacy of this wedding was really special! Steve & Marlena were able to have a quiet moment to themselves as they watched the guests take their seat below their view from the glass-encased balcony.
